Learning to play the songs of your favorite artists is always enjoyable but for me the real fun is creating original music. We all have something to say so why not say it in song. Here are some examples of homegrown artists with something to say.

Track 01: "The Greenpoint Song" Easily the most popular song from the Buttwhistle and Monty catalog. This version was recorded at the "Dan O'Connell: 12 Years of Higher Education" party at the Landmark tavern in January of 1988.

Track 02: "Greenpoint Breakdown",Track 03: "McCarren Pool",Track 04: "Newtown Creek" These three are from Fred Rubino and, again, are borrowed without permission from the Newtown Creek Music site.

Track 05: "Hung Down Blues",Track 06: "Today I Was A Bird",Track 07: "The Ballad Of Dewey Lincoln" 1982 was a most prolific year for Buttwhistle and Monty. Here are three from that banner year including the grammy nominated infectious diddy Today I Was A Bird.
