Open group jamming with anyone that happened to be around was one of the most wonderful and most lasting aspects the center scene. But it was also common for people to break off into more formal groups and partnerships. Here is a small sample of some those homegrown group efforts.
Track 01: "Down to the Waterline",Track 02: "Oh Yoko",Track 03: "Out of Time" These three are from a short lived group called The Prime Cuts. The recordings come from a rehearsal for a Wine & Cheese that was held at the Polish National Home. The Cuts were made up of Phil, Steve and Rich on guitars and vocals; Anthony G. on flute and Tommy on conga and tambourine. Note: Oh Yoko is the only known recording of Rich playing harmonica... it's easy to see why.
Track 04: "Fourth Time Around": recorded March 31, 1979: this Dylan tune comes from Steve and Rich. Steve is the best interpreter of Dylan I've ever met and this recording shows why. Note: Steve plays a mean harp.
Track 05: "Up On Cripple Creek", Track 06: "One More Saturday Night" recorded November 1977: Here's two by the Jewel Henley Band (a short lived Sidewinder tribute band).
